Where we are, March 2026

We get asked, with increasing frequency, what Marr Dynamics is. The honest answer right now is: a project. Not a company with a product. Not a startup with a pitch deck. A project with a direction and a long time horizon.

Here is what actually exists today, and what does not.

What exists

A thesis. Autonomous ground platforms that can operate in extreme environments for extended periods without human intervention. Not remotely operated vehicles. Not drones with wheels. Machines that persist in conditions that destroy conventional hardware, make their own decisions, and do useful work without connectivity or operator support.

Research. We have been studying the failure modes of existing autonomous systems in harsh environments. Thermal management, power systems, terrain navigation, sensor degradation. Understanding what breaks and why is the prerequisite to building something that does not break.

A location. Huntsville, Alabama. Not because of a specific contract or customer. Because the concentration of aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing talent here is difficult to match anywhere else in the country.

What does not exist

A product. There is no prototype. There is no hardware. There is no timeline for when there will be hardware. We are not going to fake this.

Funding announcements. We are not raising. We are not pitching. The project is funded internally through Monte Sano Industries and will remain so until there is something real to show.

A team page. The people working on this are working on it quietly. When we have something to show, the work will speak for itself.

Why publish anything at all

Because the space matters. The problems we are interested in are real, and the industry coverage we publish in this journal reflects genuine research into what other teams are building and where the field is moving. We would rather contribute something useful to the conversation than stay completely silent until we have a product to sell.

This journal will continue to publish industry coverage and periodic project updates. We will not manufacture urgency where none exists, and we will not pretend to be further along than we are.

That is where things stand.
